Technology, internet, and New York art is followed well by educated young people who are part of this trend, too. One of the most important characteristics of Hipster "thrift store" to go to the market and their advertising and protection.
Hipsterism is actually not a new trend. Writers like Jack Kerouac and William Boroughs of Beat Generation- which combines literature, music and poetry started this trend. The other stream of today's hipster can not say at this point is very different.
